Helping Expats Relocate
June is such a fabulous month! It's the start of summer and as an American who has lived quite awhile in England, I am looking forward to sunshine and beautiful gardens and daylight well into the night time hours. My experience of summers in other countries tells me that summers here have their own special features. There is the Big Screen of Wimbledon at Kings Cross, in London. There are sheep in the meadow in the countryside and National Trust sites to explore. Different experience than Florida? You got that right! No hurricanes, for one thing! If I want the beach, I need to hope for warmth and a beautiful sunset.
June is a month in which many families are getting ready to pack up and not just go on a holiday/vacation, but actually change country as soon as school is out. In Parents on the Move! I look at your experience of moving, or "relocating" within your own country as well as overseas or over-pond. I look at Levels of Experience in relocation. In May's blog post, I talked about a Relocation level. This is the level you choose for yourself or a child regarding how you will live in another country. Have you ever relocated with your family, or have you moved a dozen times; but without children? Kids make a whole new kind of move! When your Experience Level doesn't match up with your Relocation Level, there are often real challenges within the family.
So what can you do? Pick up a copy of Parents on the Move! on the Store page of this website and check out how you can get started on planning for a successful family relocation. If you would like to chat more about how you can have a family plan for relocation success, then give me a call! Details are on the Store page.
Hope to hear from you! All the best for a great summer, where ever you are-at the moment!
